Happy Bonfire Night

“A penny loaf to feed the Pope
A farthing o' cheese to choke him.
A pint of beer to rinse it down.
A faggot of sticks to burn him.
Burn him in a tub of tar.
Burn him like a blazing star.
Burn his body from his head.
Then we'll say ol' Pope is dead.”

they don't seem to teach kids the second verse anymore,
tis' not very PC.

I have to say that this tradition is very twisted from an American point of view,

not to mention a Catholic(ish) kind of person.

But hey, we get to have a big bonfire, burn an effigy,

yell “Burn Him!!” and have some fireworks while having a party…
