What can I Say... I "Let Love In"!

Yeah, well the consensus is that I'm not the only one with the WTF attitude after Dead in the Family.  With True Blood hitting the airwaves over here last year, I would have thought a bang up book was waiting for us long term fans.... sadly, no.   Especially with my house move 1 week today, I'm in need of some serious Eric time to relieve my stress.  At first I thought that I was too harsh on the book, but after discussing with other readers who aren't as into fanfic as me; I discovered that they felt the same way.  So WTF Charlaine?  You've created such an awesome character that I find myself completely enraptured by him (and I'm not alone).  I'm not one to have ever been so completely taken with a charachter like this, I'm almost ashamed to be acting like a lovestruck teenager.  However, I'm not.  I love getting lost in a good story starring my Viking.  I have always loved a good vamp story for the past 3 decades (shit I'm old), but Eric is my absolute dream vamp.  Guess we'll have to wait another year for Mrs. Harris to bring back the Eric we fell in love with (Yike, Yahoo, Yum)

But I'm ok now, I delved into Let Love In by Terri Botta and the Companion Stories.  Nothing like falling in Love with Eric all over again.

Dead in the Family

Ok I have just finished reading Dead in the Family...what can I say?

After Dead or Worse, I couldn't wait to dig into Dead and Gone.  I was left very unsettled at the ending of Dead and Gone and delved into fanfic to satisfy  the hole that was left after Claudine's death, Niall closing off Faery, and Sookie wondering which vampire Niall was talking about.  I realise that fanfic may have skewed my expectations of Dead in the Family, but I thought the overall story was a bit mediocre for being the 10th book of the series.  With all the cliffhangers of Dead and Gone, I was expecting a chocked full story.  She definitely gave the unexpected when Eric & Sookie's relationship was in full swing at the very beginning.  Guess I was hoping since Mrs Harris was buliding their relationship from book 1 that she might actually put a bit more depth into the reconcilation after Sookie's torture.  It isn't all bad.  The Claude storyline was a mystery up til the very end and his character had a lot of work put into his dialogue.  I liked the whole Lattesta going after Sookie one way or another.  I liked that Sam is still there for Sookie as the man that would be perfect to fit into her ideal life of wife and mother, yet she just can't give him her heart.  I like the fact that Hunter is a character that allows Sookie to try and help keep from all the horrors she experienced while growing up.  I like the way she was able to help Bill reconcile with his family (both living and undead).  But for us Eric fans....WTF!  Ocella!!!  I realise it ties into the whole family thing, but I thought he was dead(finally dead).  It seemed that Sookie & Eric swapped personalities in the story with Sookie being violent and Eric being an emotional mess.  I'll probably reread it again when I'm less stressed over my move that is rapidly approaching to see if I have judged this too harshly.

Went to catch up on Healing Blood by Bellawriter7 and found myself re-reading the beginning. 
It's a very cathartic read and I highly recommend it.
...and nice lemon pie to go with a good story.

Looking for some Viking Lovin' ?! (Who isn't)

Ok, there I was getting a bit bored with a current read and decided to flip to another story I could get caught up with.  I'm in the process of moving house and I need a bit of Eric time to give me strength!  I found a great story that is AU called The Dance by Lilliana Dearing.  It's a true love story and Sookie is strong but still our loveable Southern Belle.  Unusual is the fact that Eric isn't a badass in this, and I still like his characterisation.  He is still strong and everybit the Viking Sex God!  The author says that she'll try to update weekly, so no loooong waits.  It has a good plot and Bill looks to get a serious ass whooping at some point- which is just an added bonus.

Long ago I dated a guy that based a whole relationship with me on several lies (just because he could).  So needless to say when I fell in love with Bill during the first book, I had hoped Bill would meet the sun after Sookie found out about his deceit!!!

Looking for another epic tale to delve into.  What can I say, I'm insatiable.
Just read the latest chappie of Late by Morgaine Swann and I have to admit, I'm a bit diappointed.  Not because of what goes on in the basement, but because it seemed that the chapter was rushed and didn't have the same rhythm as her other sex scenes.  Especially since the build up to having Bjorn join them has been building for how fucking long?  The scene seemed a bit last minute.  Hard for me to say it because I just love Late.

I've read a few mediocre works lately, but I don't like to have a list of shame or anything.  I think it is awesome that people have a venue to be able to get creative. I just like to give those that have a talent a boost and make sure their works are shared.  
I'm currently working on my first Fanfic.  It was based on a dream and has been deveolping from there.  It's still in mostly outline form with only a few scenes written, but hopefully should be posting soon.  I will definitely need a beta. ( *hint, hint*)

Did anyone watch the first True Blood Minisode?  Ok, I thought it would have been a bit longer than 3minutes.  I thought that the "clip" I added yesterday was a sneak peak....not the whole damn thing #@!? 
Oh well, I'm grateful for drop of True Blood.  Really...really I am (*sniffle, sniffle*)

This is a great site for Fanfic/ Fandoms.  There's not much there yet for Southern Vampire Mysteries or True Blood, but it is very user friendly.  Plus, it is a good home for the more explicit writings.  Have a look and would like to see more of our favourite vamp there.
