“The Tea Cup Human Issue”

As I’ve told you all before, I got started writing a blog to share my fanfic recommendations and True Blood comments with some of my close friends who enjoyed SVM fanfics but weren’t as obsessed …enthused to look for fanfics themselves.  Almost 2 years later with 3 blogs, co-moderating a 4th, a fanfic reading group, and about 450 fanfics under my belt; I have learned that the obsession …enthusiasm is world-wide.  No matter what your age, occupation or nationality; a SVM Addiction can hit anyone….and we don’t want to be cured. 
“Sookie and Eric: End Game” is a 3 part thesis style discourse on what will happen to Eric & Sookie at the end of CH SVM novels.  This morning was the 3rd posting of the series.  Of course, everybody might have different opinions on will happen to Eric & Sookie at the end of the SVM series, but tbrantsandraves supports her theories very well and has some wonderful insights.  The fact that she admits that she hates Bill only increases my respect for her.  One of the best aspects of her posts is that  tbrantsandraves really gets the discussion charged up.  Don’t be surprised, Fangreaders, if this blog gets mentioned in the Chat room today *wink*.

Fairy’s Recommendations

Since starting a reading group for other SVM Addicts, I have been reading fanfics that I may not have read.  As some of you know who have been reading my ramblings, I am very partial to Eric being a vampire.  However, my adamant refusal to read All Human Fanfics was reconsidered after reading Violetbat’s DREAM DOCTOR and House Of Flesh On Fire  by FarDareisMai2.   I found these fanfics very engaging and enjoyed them immensely. Since then I have read some incredible AH fanfic. Though, I don’t necessarily seek out All Human Fics, I have been seeking quality fics for the reading group and have had All Human fics recommended for our reading list.

Head Full of Doubt : Road Full of Promise by Scribeninja~ Now this fic tickles my vamp-lovin side.  For me it’s the best of the two worlds AU&AH.  Eric is the owner of Fangtasia who is famous for living the life of a vampire, and Sookie is a telepathic waitress at Merlottes that wants to become a successful journalist by interviewing the famous Eric Northman.  This fic is full of mystery, so put on your deerstalker hat and see if you can figure out the reasons behind Mr. Northman’s secret past.

*Scribeninja came into the Fangreaders Chat room to talk about this story.  She answered some of our questions and really teased us about what was coming up.  She’s a lovingly cruel author who has us really hooked on this story.  A tentative date has been set for the 10th of February for continuing our chat of this fic and hopefully Scribeninja will be joining us to answer more questions and to tease us unmercifully to what is coming up.

Unknown Protocol by Drumbjo~ This fic grabbed me immediately being an American expat living in England.  Sookie’s return to Bon Temps for Jason’s wedding with a secret she’s been hiding for 18 years.  Let me tell you as a wedding planner, I wouldn’t miss this wedding for anything.  Although there are some tough issues addressed in this fic, there are plenty of scenes that lighten the mood.  Look out for Amelia & Pam to be devilishly trouble-stirring.

*Drumbjo visited our Fangreaders group to talk about this engaging fic.  Our group will be continuing the chat of Unknown Protocol. It is tentatively booked on the 24th of February.  Trust me in my professional opinion, this is the wedding of the century, and you don’t want to miss it.

So now to the Vamp Lovers out there~

 Masters of the Scene by Djehmli:  For you True Blood lovers out there*waves hand in the air*, this fic is a what might happen in season 4.  It starts after Sookie returns a week later after leaving for the fae realm at the end of Season 3.  This is a mature Sookie whose eyes have opened to what is going on around her since she first entered the vampire world.  This is a well thought out plot that integrates what has happened in the show as well as some of the books.

Taken by XDarkDesiresX : Ok Lemon Lovers~ this fic has gone down very well in our chat room(no snickering out there).  This is an Eric who’s tired of waiting for Sookie to realise the feelings she’s always have had for him.  Eric is going to make Sookie confess her true desires.  Might want to keep something cool handy if you want to finish reading this fic.  This fic will definitely add to global warming.
Good Things Come to Those Who Wait! by Textcrazy:  This is an Epic of a fic.  Although, I admit that this story could have used a beta to help with minor mistakes, this is definitely a story to sink your fangs into.  This is definitely not for the Bill lovers out there.  However, if you’re open to multiple~partner lemons ( which are incredibly written) and a lot of AU; you will really like this fic where Sookie gets her cake and eats it too.  Or should I say Lemon Pie…

Eric and the Witches of Shreveport by Merick: This fic takes place about about a week after Eric regains his memory after the witches curse.  This is a True Blood fanfic that ties into the SVM books.  Sookie is found without her memories, and Eric still doesn’t know what happened while he had stayed with Sookie.  Eric feels compelled to help Sookie and tries to come to terms with his feelings for her.  Sookie doesn’t know who she is, but feels that Eric is the only one she can trust.  *sigh* Yes, this fic really tickles my romantic bone, but is not a fluffy story.  There’s a real mystery to who would have done this to Sookie and why.

*Merick has also visited our Fangreaders chat room to talk about her fic and has popped by to share in chats about other fics.  Merick will be back to talk about Eric and the Witches of Shreveport which is tentatively booked on the 6th of March.  So definitely get reading, and she’ll be able to answer your questions directly.

Bring Me to Life by My Universe:  The Fangreader Group chatted about this fic last night with the author, My Universe.  This well-written fic really touches on the flavour of CH in the SVM books.  It takes place during All Together Dead after the soda pop incident.  Sookie is going back to her room and Quinn wants to join her to sleep.  It’s here that My Universe lovingly shakes thing up a bit.  I think the consensus from the Fangreaders was that we wished this was the way the book played out.  No offence Mrs Harris (you helped create us Eric lovers). 

*My Universe came in to the chat room last night to talk about Bring Me to Life which was an entry to the I Write the Song Contest.  She is planning to carry on the story, so story alert it now on ff.net.   

~*~Currently Reading~*~

Today while still in my jammies, I plan on finishing my reading on this fic, Immortal Beloved by All About Eric.  I’m almost all caught up with story that is an AU that takes place well after the Great Reveal and the Vampires have taken over America.  All About Eric has created a well thought out world where the Vampires are the ruling governing body.  I’m so impressed with the socio-economic details of what the world would be like if Vampires actually ran the government.  Eric Northman is a king who lives in his palace in New Orleans.  Sookie is a child of 7 who goes to live with her Gran who is a part of the Domestic Staff in the palace. It’s the story of Sookie growing up living in the palace.   Eric Northman notices something different about Sookie even at their first meeting.   Eric is there sporadically as Sookie grows up in some classic scenes.  What will happen when she turns 21?  Now this lil’ Fairy deserves a big spanking, because I probably would have passed this fic up due to the T- rating.  I would have completely regretted missing out on this fic.  I’m hooked.  It’s witty, intelligent, and endearing. 

* Since telling All About Eric how her fic was recommended by our Fangreaders group to read, she has been an absolutely delightful addition to our fellow addicts.  Tomorrow 31st of January will be our chat on Immortal Beloved, and of course All About Eric will be there with bells on.   (well, she could be naked for all we know~ it’s a chat room people!!!)  The chat starts at 9pm GMT (4 EST).  If you are a fan, click here to join the Fangreaders Group.

Sorry for such a long list of recommendations.  Getting the Fangreaders Chat room organised and helping with the Fang_readers Community on Livejournal has taken a bit of this Fairy’s time.  However now that things are moving tickety boo, I can get back to giving my fellow fanfic readers heads up on fanfics, Askars worshipping, and anything else that tickles my fanfic fairy bone.
