Calling all Fandoms

Sometimes I watch the telly and can not believe the tragedies that go on around us in the world. It is very easy to think that one person can not help when the troubles seem so big. After living in places like Kansas City with the tornadoes and Virginia Beach with the hurricanes, I’ve seen first hand how a person can make all the difference. Whether it is helping physically, or with donations, or by spreading the word about ways to help; everyone can do their bit. After watching the devastation in Queensland, my heart broke. Then a little while later to witness the floods and mudslides in Brazil, I just felt that there has to be something to do. Then I saw a Tweet pass by that uplifted my spirits. The Fandom community is banding together to raise money for the the victims of the floods in Queensland. I’ve copied a bit from their blog here. Fanfic Authors are asked to donate a story that will be compiled with other stories from all fandoms. This compilation will be given to all those that donate at least $5. Please find it in your heart to help~ either by monetary donation, a fanfic or by spreading the word about this great cause.

A group of caring and determined Aussie's are working hard to raise funds for the victims of the devastating floods that have ravaged Queensland in recent weeks. To help them in their efforts, donate at least $5 to the QLD Government Appeal, forward your receipt to fandomsfightthefloods@gmail.com, and you will receive a compilation of stories and oneshots from your favourite fic authors across the following fandoms: Twilight, Southern Vampire Mysteries (Sookie Stackhouse), The Vampire Diaries, Vampire Academy, Harry Potter, The Mortal Instruments, and more - including original pieces.
You can also contribute to the cause by donating a story/one-shot to be added to the compilation. The maximum word limit for submissions is 10,000 words and all submissions must be received by 11:59pm AEST/GMT+10 on Sunday February 20th, 2011. To register as an author, head on over to the Author Registration page and submit your information in the registration form. Once you register, an email will be sent out to you within 24 hours containing more details about your submission.

TRUE~blood~LUST Readers Group
2011 has started off with a bang for this little fairy. With January and February being the quiet time as a wedding planner, I would normally be a bit bored. With business being very slow this year and with businesses cutting back on the Christmas parties of last year, my slow season started early. I have also had my hubby home for over 6 weeks~ Arghhhh!!! …a..a.a…I mean GREAT!*said through clenched teeth*. For 3 of those weeks he’s been down with the flu. Oh joy *heavy on the sarcasm*. Luckily he is now feeling better and will be returning to work on Monday.
So needing to delve into My Happy Place, I wanted to find a project to help me escape my personal insane asylum. The TRUE~blood~LUST Readers Group is born. Many ideas came to my head on how I could get a bunch of SVM Fanfic addicts together. After trying out about a dozen different chat rooms, I settled on Chatzy.com. It’s private, no registration for the members, can keep out spammers, and it’s available 24/7. Now what?….what the hell are we going to read? You’ve heard the phrase, “can’t make everybody happy”. Well, no shit. So let’s get the group together and ask what they’ll like to do with this group. Everyone gave great ideas. So now there’s a particular topic for each day of the week and a story to go along with it.

Everyone can pick and chose what they want to read from the Reading list. There’s a poll now on my site where the members can tick off what they are reading so I can see how many are going to be in the group for each story. With the help of the brilliant ladies, Sapfirerose and Southernlady23, the ideas and creation of story request forms, calendar and reading lists were born.
In choosing stories for the group has been a bit tricky with all the fanfic addicts out there, however I hope there is something for everybody. With a chat room that’s open 24/7 there is still plenty of room for more. ( I still have 3 more chat rooms on the side, but one is plenty at the moment.) So all of you that feel there’s no room~ get in touch!! No, I mean now. I still have several people who received invites to our chat room at Chatzy.com that have not checked in. This week is a Meet & Greet & has given everybody a chance to get to know one another, chat about what they’re reading, and have a giggle. Although it does get lonely in there if people don’t stop by. Our first story~chat will be tomorrow with the Short Story Beltaine by Erullisse.

Come on ladies~ this is a great way to pimp your works out in front of you Fanfic readers. They are a wonderful group, and you will enjoy chatting with them.

The Little Wolf Series by Vic_vega66~ I’m currently finishing the third story. It is a AU story that has Eric with her OC, Lysene, who is an absolutely amazing character that is both strong and vulnerable. You just can’t help falling in love with her and her ways. Vic Vega66 adds so much depth also with Eric who is not always perfect (hello, he’s still a man). However, their relationship is utterly charming and sexy.
